SRCD Latino Caucus
The Society for Research in Child Development (SRCD) Latino Caucus was organized by a group of child development researchers in 2004. Its mission is to promote high quality research that reflects the diversity, normative development, and unique cultural strengths of Latino children, youth, and families. This organization is critically important and timely now, for two reasons: to guide the next generation of Latino child and family research; and to ensure that research results are disseminated to the scientific community, practitioners, policy makers and the general public, thereby contributing to increasingly equitable economic, educational and social participation of Latinos in the U.S. and globally. With the guidance and support of its membership, the organization also will advocate for Latino representation in professional activities and SRCD publications; work to build research capacity through recruitment, training, and professional development activities; and promote cross-national research relationships within and across multiple Latin American countries.
The success of these efforts will depend on the participation of scholars like you. Please consider joining, which you can easily do by accessing the SRCD membership web page and following the instructions posted there http://www.srcd.org/membership.html. Membership in the Latino Caucus requires regular professional or student membership in SRCD.
