Celebrating 50 Years of Research Progress at the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development: A Congressional Reception and Science Exhibition
SRCD participated in this Capitol Hill event, which featured a poster exhibit by SRCD member Connie Kasari, in addition to poster exhibits from 14 other NICHD-funded scientists. Dr. Kasari’s research focuses on enhancing communication skills in young children with autism. The event was attended by a number of lawmakers and their staff.

Research on Early Childhood Development in Low-Income Countries
This half-day meeting brought together participants from diverse settings—including universities, research organizations, foundations, development organizations, U.S. agencies, and multilateral agencies—to discuss important recent developments and needed next steps in research on early childhood development in low-income countries.

Raising Healthy Children: Recent Evidence from Developmental Science
This SRCD-sponsored Congressional briefing featured presentations on research published in a special issue of the journal Child Development on “Raising Healthy Children.” The briefing included several U.S. Senators and Representatives as Honorary Co-Chairs and featured presentations from several distinguished SRCD members.
