This SRCD committee on Policy and Communications works closely in conjunction with the Office for Policy and Communications.

The Committee's role is to represent research in national, and increasingly also in local, policy agendas of relevance to children's development. This entails helping to make both basic and applied research available to inform policy issues as well as attempting to maintain a commitment at national and local levels to continued research in child development. The Committee also serves to alert the Society's membership to important social policy issues affecting children and families and to critical issues of science policy that may affect members' research. With regular meetings and ongoing communications, the Committee continually works toward meeting goals focused on children's policy, science policy, and dissemination efforts.
