Scheduled for 1 hour and 40 minutes, 20-30 minutes of this time MUST be reserved for discussion with audience participation. This format is designed to honor a deceased person's contribution to the field of child development and must be submitted online by the submission deadline. Memorial gatherings may be arranged through the Preconference and Special Event login on the Submission Website.
Roles for this format are:
- Chair 1 (required), Chair 2 (optional): Organize and moderate the session by introducing the panelists and their roles and topics of discussion. The Chairs should be prepared to lead, stimulate, and coordinate the 20-30 minute open discussion with the audience. These are presenting roles and are protected against schedule conflicts.
- Panelists 2-6 address the questions/topics presented by the Chair(s) for comment and interactive discussion. These are presenting roles that are protected against schedule conflicts.
General Procedures for Submitting: Memorial Panel Discussion
- Enter basic information (a title with no more than 130 characters, two review panel choices, and keyword selections as directed on the Submission Website).
- Title must include the name of the person honored by this Memorial Panel Discussion.
- Enter information for the chair and panelists. Be prepared to enter complete information for yourself and accurate full names, affiliations, and email addresses for all other people on your submission. Specify a role and order for each.
- Description: Upload a PDF file. Include the name of each person and the question(s) posed to each one. To achieve a word-count of 750 or less, 2 and 1/2 pages of text:
- Use 1-inch margins on all four sides.
- 12-pt Arial font and double-spacing is required.
- Place the discussion title at the top of the first page. It should not be included in the maximum word count.
- Include the name of each panelist, his/her relationship to the honoree, and the topic each panelist will address.
- Use standard reference citations (last name, year) but do not include a reference list. If you believe a full reference is necessary, include it in the text as (authors, title, journal, year) and include it in your word count.
