Developing a robust and generalizable model of child development requires that we study broad samples of children from around the world, yet studies of child development remain concentrated in regions of North America and Western Europe. In this webinar, developmental scientists from Africa, Asia, Europe, North and South America will discuss challenges and opportunities in conducting developmental research in diverse world regions. Speakers will focus on:

  • the experiences of researchers from traditionally under-represented regions
  • the process of building research capacity in developing nations; and
  • international efforts to broaden participation in developmental science.
