Mission Statement:

The SRCD Ethics Committee helps ensure that our community of researchers, students, professionals, and partners treat one another with honesty, respect, and fairness. Its mission is to promote awareness of the SRCD Code of Ethics, provide confidential guidance to members regarding their ethical obligations, and ensure a fair, thorough, and transparent process for addressing alleged violations of ethical standards. Through education, consultation, and responsive oversight, the Committee works to foster a professional community grounded in rigorous scholarship, respect for human diversity, inclusive practices, and the protection of all individuals who engage with SRCD. By administering the Code of Ethics and recommending improvements when needed, the Committee helps sustain a culture of accountability that advances ethical conduct in developmental science and strengthens SRCD’s role in supporting the well-being of children, families, and communities.
