The goal of the guidebook is to make technical considerations more accessible to educators, but test developers and researchers may also find it useful for their SEL projects. The guidebook consists of recommendations aligned with the 2014 Standards for Educational and Psychological Testing for identifying an SEL assessment, evaluating the measurement quality of an SEL assessment, and administering and using an SEL assessment. The three guides detail the types of information and psychometric evidence a test user should expect and consider from a test publisher.

The development of this guidebook from Buros Center for Testing and a distinguished group of project scholars (including SRCD members, Susanne Denham, Michael Rodriguez, and Frank C. Worrell) was funded by The Spencer Foundation.

Check out the Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) Assessment Technical Guidebook on the Buros Center for Testing’s website.
