Dear Members of the Asian Caucus,
I want to thank you for being a member of the SRCD Asian Caucus. The Asian Caucus was started a few years ago and has been a very active part of the Society for Research on Child Development. Since its inception, the Asian Caucus has organized a preconference at each biennial meeting. We have also conducted several professional development activities for junior scholars, and we have instituted four different awards (Lifetime Achievement Award; Outstanding Contributions to Asian/Asian Diasporic Psychology Award; Outstanding Service Award; Early Career Award) to celebrate and recognize outstanding contributions to Developmental Psychology from scholars of Asian/Asian Diasphoric communities. We have organized two webinars for graduate students on specific professional development issues and we are planning regular programming for the upcoming year.
We are grateful to you for being a vibrant part of the Asian Caucus. Your active participation and commitment are critical to realizing our goal of making the Asian Caucus an important source of intellectual and social support for its members. We ask your generous support to continue the Asian Caucus’ activities to promote the professional development of junior scholars, to make strong research ties to Asian American communities, and to recognize the outstanding contributions of scholars from Asia/Asian diaspora.
