The Mission of the SRCD Black Caucus

The Black Caucus of SRCD is an organization of professionals representing a range of disciplines who are dedicated to promoting the development and well-being of Black children.

As a non-profit organization within SRCD, we seek to:

  • Provide network opportunities for Black researchers and those interested in conducting research on Black children’s development;
  • Build capacity through professional development opportunities for emerging and seasoned Black scholars and others interested in promoting Black child development research in SRCD;
  • Interface with SRCD around representational governance and committee memberships; promote child development research generally and Black child development research specifically in research venues nationally and globally;
  • Connect with other organizations that are interested in promoting child development research, policy, and programs including advocacy to advance the well-being of all children.
