Dr. Diana Bianchi, Director of the U.S. Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute for Child Health and Human Development has issued a Request for Information for a proposed Strategic Plan Fiscal Years 2020-2024. Researchers who rely on or hope to obtain funding through the NICHD are encouraged to review and comment on the priorities outlined in this plan. Feedback on both the themes themselves and on how the opportunities presented by these themes are being characterized will be helpful. SRCD will be submitting a formal response on behalf of our community, but responses from individual researchers or research teams will be very important in helping Dr. Bianchi and her team understand the scope of the work that NICHD is currently or should be supporting.
Please send your responses via email to NICHDStrategicPlan@nih.gov no later than Friday, February 15, 2019 with “RFI Response” in the subject line of the email.
SRCD has been working in partnership with APA, PAA, and FABBS to communicate to NICHD leadership the need to include behavioral, social, and biobehavioral research priorities within the plan. This plan will directly shape funding priorities and allocations, please take action to support your own and your colleagues’ research program within the future NICHD portfolio!
