SRCD Signs on to the American Statistical Association's Letter to Puerto Rican Governor Ricardo Rossello urging him to keep the Puerto Rico Institute of Statistics autonomous and independent

SRCD joins 47 scientific organizations from around the world to promote the importance of the Puerto Rico Institute of Statistics (PRIS) in collecting, producing, and communicating impartial statistical data. By maintaining PRIS as an independent government agency, there is very little chance for political influences, bureaucracy, and conflicts of interest to negatively affect scientific analyses. With the help of "reputable and reliable data and statistical methods," Puerto Rico can be put back on track toward a "sustainable recovery."
