Dear SRCD Members,

I am delighted to inform you that the Final Report of the Task Force on Publications and Ethical Behavior is now available, along with a memorandum from the Governing Council that summarizes its responses to the thoughtful recommendations presented in the Task Force report. Please log in to Commons where you will find these documents in the SRCD Member Community section.

As the memorandum from the Governing Council indicates, several of the Task Force’s recommendations have already been implemented or are in the process of being implemented. An Implementation Task Force will be formed to prioritize and identify clear plans for implementing several of the other recommendations. This group will consist of 7-9 people and include Governing Council members and SRCD members at large, some of whom will have significant editorial experience and expertise in nonprofit leadership. If you are interested in serving as a member of the Implementation Task Force, please add your name here, along with relevant experiences and expertise. The deadline for self-nominations is February 29, 2024.

On behalf of the Governing Council, I want to express enormous appreciation to Sandra Graham and Dan Keating, Co-Chairs of the Task Force, and Lorah Dorn, Shawn Jones, Linda Juang, Natalia Palacios, Stephen Russell, Dalal Safa, and Emilie Smith, members of the Task Force, for their diligence, sensitivity, cooperation, patience, and overall leadership as they carried out this important work. I can think of no more compelling evidence of their commitment to the health of SRCD and developmental science more broadly. We are confident that the Task Force's exemplary and time-consuming work and the subsequent work of the Implementation Task Force, in combination with members’ shared sense of responsibility for the stewardship of SRCD, will markedly enhance the overall functioning and vibrancy of our Society and help to advance its overarching strategic goals and mission.
